Cousins Subs Asks Community To Join Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Combos For A Cure Proceeds to Benefit Pediatric Cancer Care

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 6, 2017)Cousins Subs® and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF) invite the community to join their team in raising $50,000 to fight childhood cancer through Combos For A Cure—an annual fundraiser running throughout September at all Cousins’ restaurants.

As part of the third annual campaign and to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Cousins will donate a portion of the proceeds from every combo meal sold to VLCF for pediatric cancer research and compassionate care. Cousins’ Make It Better Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding local organizations that address health and wellness, hunger and youth education, will also contribute to the cause.

“We ask that the community join us in recognizing childhood cancer awareness month by stopping into their local Cousins Subs and supporting the cause. Together, we can create more cancer-free tomorrows,” said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs.
“Partnerships and continued support from organizations like Cousins are crucial in continuing the fight to end cancer,” said Paul Soltwedel, president of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. “We’re beyond grateful that their team is passionate and strategic about making an impact for so many children and their families.”

Cousins chose VLCF as the beneficiary of the Combos For A Cure fundraiser because donations to the organization directly support locally led, patient-centered advancements in cancer research and compassionate care throughout Wisconsin.

“With approximately ¼ of children diagnosed with cancer losing their battle each year, we cannot think of a better reason to team up with Wisconsin’s leader in funding the fight against cancer, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, than to give more children the chance at a better tomorrow,” said McCoy.

The Wisconsin-based organizations first teamed up to tackle cancer in September 2015 with the launch of Combos For A Cure. Through the tremendous support of the local community, Cousins has met its $50,000 goal the last two consecutive years leading to a total contribution of $100,000 for local research, compassionate care and advanced technology for better outcomes in cancer.
