Cousins Subs and Milwaukee Bucks Tip Off the Block Out Hunger Campaign for a Sixth Season

The campaign has raised more than $97,500 for Hunger Task Force to beat food insecurity

MILWAUKEE (Dec. 21, 2020) – For the sixth consecutive season, Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs and the Milwaukee Bucks are teaming up to fight hunger across the state through the Block Out Hunger campaign. Cousins Subs’ Make It Better Foundation will donate $50 for every shot the Bucks block during the 2020-21 regular season to Hunger Task Force to purchase nutritious milk for the nearly 50,000 Wisconsin families the nonprofit organization and its affiliate food pantries serve.

“During the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cousins Subs is especially proud to partner with community-driven organizations like the Milwaukee Bucks and Hunger Task Force to make it better for thousands of vulnerable children and families by ensuring they have access to nutritious milk,” said Cousins Subs Vice President of Marketing Justin McCoy.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Cousins Subs and Hunger Task Force for another season of the Block Out Hunger initiative,” said Milwaukee Bucks Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy Matt Pazaras. “This campaign, which has already raised nearly $100,000, shows what can happen when two partners come together to make a sustained impact in the community. We look forward to blocking even more shots this season and making another great donation to Hunger Task Force!”

“In the midst of an incredibly difficult year, Hunger Task Force is looking forward to our favorite tradition with Cousins Subs and the Milwaukee Bucks with the Block Out Hunger campaign!” said Hunger Task Force Executive Director Sherrie Tussler. “We are so grateful for Cousins’ Subs continued support, especially with need—and stress, it seems—at an all-time high and we can’t wait to see the Bucks back on the court blocking shots for local hunger relief!”

Last season the Milwaukee Bucks blocked 429 shots, which was the third most in the NBA. As a result, Cousins Subs donated $21,450 to Hunger Task Force. Since its inception in the 2015-16 season, the Block Out Hunger campaign has raised more than $97,500 to support Hunger Task Force and its affiliated pantries across the state of Wisconsin.
