As part of our Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Contest, we’ve helped some of the top student-athletes across the state reach their academic and athletic goals — and we’re here to help you reach yours too! Simply apply February 1 - February 28, 2021 for your chance to win up to a $7,500 scholarship for continuing education!

BECOME A WSA SCHOLARSHIP VIP:

Four finalists will receive a once-in-a-lifetime VIP scholarship experience to the Wisconsin Sports Awards event. At the event, finalists will walk the 'blue' carpet beside Wisconsin’s finest in high school, collegiate and professional athletics, receive recognition onstage during the awards show and have the opportunity to mingle with fellow athletes.   • Student must complete an Online Application or Download Application and mail it in by the deadline of 11:59PM CST February 28, 2021. This will include responses to the following questions:
    • In 250-300 words, explain your involvement in the community and what drives you to give back.
    • In 200 words, describe an athletic moment that taught you an important life lesson and how athletic participation will assist you in future academic and athletic success.
    • Please describe your future career goals.
    • Please indicate any additional information that you believe would be of assistance to the selection committee. 
  • Student must submit an official copy of transcript.
  • Student must submit two letters of recommendation. First, an athletic endorsement from a school staff member. Second, an endorsement for community work from a community member.

  • Four Wisconsin high school student-athletes will be selected to receive one of the following scholarships:
    • First Place Prize: $7,500 scholarship awarded to one male AND one female athlete.
    • Runner-Up Prize: $2,500 scholarship awarded to one male AND one female athlete.
  • Must be a second semester senior.
  • Must have participated in a WIAA sanctioned sport during his/her high school career.
  • Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Grades earned through the most recently completed grading period should be used.
  • Must be involved with civic or community organization(s) or activities during his/her high school career (grades 9-12).
  • Must be able to attend the Wisconsin Sports Awards event held in Wisconsin.
  • Must be a college bound student. The educational institution must be accredited, either by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), or by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Must consent to be photographed, audio recorded and/or video recorded, and all photographs, audio recordings and video recordings become the property of Cousins Subs, Inc. A Publicity Release Form will be required to be signed by all finalists. If the applicant is under the age of 18, an adult must sign on his/her behalf.
  • All applications will be carefully reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation following the entry deadline, February 28, 2021. Following the review process, the Board of Directors will select four finalists by April 15, 2021.
  • First and runner-up winners will be announced the day of the Wisconsin Sports Awards event.
  • Each of the four finalists will be required to attend the Wisconsin Sports Awards held in Wisconsin. Passes for the event will be provided for the student and two adult family members.
  • Each of the four finalists will receive a travel stipend of $100 and hotel accommodations for themselves and up to two adult family members for the evening of the Wisconsin Sports Awards event.
  • If the Wisconsin Sports Awards does not take place in 2021, Cousins Subs will coordinate an alternative event for the four winners and their families.
